City Science Quest – Atlanta Science Festival

City Science Quest

Uncover Atlanta’s innovations, discoveries, and STEM careers by completing missions from the comfort of your own home in this app-based scavenger hunt for kids and adults.

Compete against other curious kids and adults as you submit photos, videos, and text evidence to earn points for completing missions. Prizes will be awarded!

You’ll need a smart phone or tablet, wifi access, and maybe some help from family members.

How it Works

First, register below!

In the week before the Quest, registered players will receive email instructions to download the GooseChase mobile app (available for Apple and Android devices) and connect to the City Science Quest. We advise you to set it up in advance, but the missions will not be revealed until the scheduled sessions.

Our Quest will take place over three sessions. Registration gives you access to any or all of the scheduled two-hour sessions. Each session will release a group of about 20 missions to be completed at home or in your neighborhood, using household materials, and by submitting a photo, video, or typed response. Earn points by completing missions. Prizes will be awarded to randomly selected participants from the top points-earners in each game, and overall points winners.

Who is it For

The Quest is designed for a broad audience from upper elementary age to adults. Younger participants (elementary/middle school age) will need to team up with an adult for most missions. Some missions may be challenging for younger audiences, other missions may be too simple for adults, but everyone will have a good time!

Join the Quest

Registration is required but free, and gives you access to any or all of the scheduled two-hour sessions; each session will offer new missions and your points will accumulate! If you decide to play as a team, only one person needs to register – that should be the person whose mobile device will be used during the Quest.

To help us continue bringing people together through the wonder of science, we ask you to consider making a donation as you register.

Instructions for how to download the app and access the game will be emailed to you upon registration. Look for an email from [email protected] which may have gone to your spam folder.
